My nature

My entire life has been lived sharing a profound respect for nature. An understanding of nature and my environment has urged me to move forward on a cleanup initiative. Let’s face it, pretty much all of us contribute to the destruction of our environment. We live in a world choked with manufacturing. overproducing, and a steadily decreasing supply, of natural resources. Don’t get me wrong here, I have a big flat screen TV and a smartphone It is foolish in a lot of ways to abandon technological progress in fear of harming the environment. It is the method and the means of how we manufacture these products that ultimately harms our planet and probably beyond. If we could use a cleaner more efficient means of energy the world would be in much better shape. Fossil fuel could be used in a limited fashion and other forms of energy could be utilized to handle the majority of the job. There are a lot of things we can do. It is going to take time and more struggle than should ever be necessary, to get this done. I would think it would not be a hard sell to convince people that taking care of ourselves and our environment is necessary, but here we are.

What we can do

Even though the task seems impossible at times, there are brilliant efforts that are yielding results in an effort to clean up our oceans. More efforts are being made to improve the environment every day. At the same time, at every step, The policies and people who are helping to manage all of these efforts in a large-scale are being defunded and removed from influence. So what can we do about this while we see all of our educators and environmental authorities disappear? We can do our part on an individual level. We can come together and start in our own neighborhoods. I know that other people have to see all of the trash that is blowing around all over your neighborhoods. What I suggest is that we clean it up. I have started doing this myself.

Do it yourself

After passing by a popular department store in my neighborhood, I noticed a large consistent amount of trash on the side of the building. It was a lot of trash. It looked like maybe 3 or 4 large bags of trash had been strewn about a small green space next to the store. The next time I went to the store I asked the cart guy that was outside why no one ever cleaned up the trash. He looked at me like I was insane and told me that if I did not like it I should clean it myself. I decided that was a great idea and I cleaned it up and disposed of the rubbish. It was that easy. I just did it myself and now my neighborhood is a little bit nicer.
